Three killed in building collapse in Mumbai, rescue operation underway

Navi Mumbai Building Collapse: A ground plus three-storey building located in an area of ​​Mumbai suddenly collapsed. Three people have died in this accident. The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Miraj (30 years), Miraj Saif Ansari (24 years), and Safiq Ahmed Rehmat Ali Ansari (28 years). The bodies have been sent to a government hospital for post-mortem.

Navi Mumbai Building Collapse: According to Municipal Corporation Commissioner Kailash Shinde, the building was about 10 years old. The causes of the accident are being investigated. Many other people are feared to be trapped under the debris. Police officials said that a total of 24 families were living in the building.

Navi Mumbai Building Collapse: The staff engaged in the rescue operation has rescued two people safely, while two others are likely to be trapped under the debris. The NDRF team is also present at the spot and rescue operations are underway. Navi Mumbai Deputy Fire Officer Purushottam Jadhav said that he received information about the building collapse at 4 am.

However, two people have been pulled out of the debris so far, whose names are Saif Ali and Ruswa Khatun. Efforts are being made to rescue the remaining two people.

Navi Mumbai Building Collapse: 24 people managed to come out safely before the building collapsed. A survivor said, “We heard a strong tremor and the sound of household items rattling a few minutes ago. On hearing this, we woke up and managed to get out immediately. Shortly after, the building collapsed.”

Rescue work is underway and officials have appealed to the people to maintain patience.
