NEET PG Postponed
NEET PG, another blow for the medical examinees of the country. The Ministry of Health has today, Sunday, postponed the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET PG) 2024, which is conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE). The postponement comes at a time when the country’s eyes are already on the ongoing NEET PG exam, which is surrounded by allegations of paper leak and other irregularities.
Keeping in view the recent incidents of complaints regarding opaqueness of some competitive examinations, the Ministry of Health has revised the NEET PG examination procedures conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) for medical students while adhering to the strict rules. For this reason, it has been decided to postpone the NEET PG entrance examination scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024. The new date of this exam will be notified soon, an official report from the Ministry of Health said.
NEET- PG Medical Students
The decision is being widely criticized by NEET PG aspirants, many of whom had to travel to other cities to take the exam. Some medical student says, “I went from Delhi to Meerut to appear in this exam and was doing chapter revision in the hotel. There is no reason to cancel this exam and it should have been conducted on time. Some candidates had to restart their medical career, or join a new job, or even go on holidays with their Family.”NEET PG candidates Dr. Pashin Ahmed says.
There are some candidates who had to keep aside the emergency situation of their family to appear for the exam and now they are feeling abandoned by NBE. A candidate said “I work in UPPMS and my father was admitted for surgery. I went to Lucknow to appear for the exam. We all UPPSC Officials have a lot of work and we did not get time to prepare for the exam, but still I found some time to appear for this exam. Unfortunately, such things consume a lot of our resources and people’s time. We are government officers on 24 hour duty, so it is very difficult to manage all this,” said a NEET PG aspirant when his name did not appear in the exam.
