After that this matter reached Gujarat High Court. Now after eight days, the court has approved this film and given assurance to the producers. Following the court’s decision, Maharaj has been released on the OTT platform on June 21. This film is being shown on Netflix.

The allegation that the film has hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community was later stayed by the High Court. Similar allegations were made that the film might cause protests among the followers of the Hindu sect. In this case the filmmakers had released the trailer secretly. Due to such reasons, a lot of controversies were raised and there were demands to close the film. After the court’s agreement, Maharaj movie has been released on Netflix.

Apart from this, ‘Munjya’ fame actress Sharvari Waghcha is also included in it. The film is based on a true story, which takes as its basis the historical case of 1862.
